Why a café counter

Turn a quiet clubhouse into the place people meet.

Most clubhouses are busy for a party on Saturday and empty the rest of the week. A small café gives residents a reason to come down — for morning coffee, a work hour, or a catch-up with neighbours.

  • Somewhere to meetCoffee after a walk, a chat after school drop-off.
  • Somewhere to workAn hour with a laptop and a good cup, a lift ride away.
  • Something for every ageParents, kids, remote workers and early risers.

Questions

Before you get in touch

Does the RWA have to pay?

It depends on the format. Often residents simply pay per order; some societies prefer a subsidy or a fixed arrangement. We share options after a visit.

What space do you need?

Usually a small area in the clubhouse with power and water. Tell us what you have and we'll suggest a format.

What about hygiene, noise and waste?

We agree hours, cleaning and waste handling with the committee before we start, and we're happy to take questions from residents.

Is hemp on the menu?

Only in a few signature items, always optional. The counter can be completely hemp-free if residents prefer.

How do we get the committee on board?

Start with a pop-up weekend. Residents' response is usually the easiest way for a committee to decide.
